Broadcasting and Television Director

The major of Film and Television Education, predecessor of Broadcasting & Television Director, was established in 1992. Film and Television Education was one of the initial film and television majors founded in the comprehensive universities in China. In 1998, it renamed Broadcasting & Television Director. This major emphasizes the combination of theory and practice. Besides analyzing movies’ scenario, students in this major need to watch famous movies and television plays to improve the ability of appreciating and critical ability. Meanwhile, students also take part in activities such as making short films, copywriting, and planning programs to exercise their practical ability. With teaching experience accumulated in over twenty years and joint efforts of teachers of three generations, the major of Broadcasting and Television Director has built an excellent and stable team of teachers and has constructed a professional curriculum system, striving to strengthen the teaching with a practical and efficient characteristic.

To train the professional practical ability of students, the department has signed agreements with many sectors such as SMG to build internship bases. Good practical environment further enhances practical ability of students and makes them become a compound talent with professional theoretical foundation and ability of planning and practice. Students will not only master all kinds of professional skills but also possess extensive cultural and theoretical knowledge, solid writing foundation, excellent expression ability, and good communication skills.
