. Guidance

  Meet the needs of social development and the transformation of publishing industry, take teaching reform as the core, integrate curriculum resources, pay attention to curriculum construction and training quality, and strive to run the specialty of editing and publishing with its own characteristics.According to the characteristics of applied liberal arts talents training, we should improve the integration of humanistic literacy and scientific spirit, increase the proportion of practical teaching in teaching programs, scientifically construct students’ knowledge hierarchy, enhance their practical and innovative ability, and comprehensively improve students’ adaptability to the publishing media and cultural and creative market.

Ⅱ. Objectives

  Cultivate editing and publishing professionals with solid and systematic theoretical knowledge and humanistic accomplishment of editing, publishing and releasing, and talents with strong practical skills who can meet the needs of information society, networking and digitization, and who are capable of editing, publishing, releasing and administrating books and newspapers or other paper-based media, web-based and electronic publications.

Ⅲ. Requirements for Graduation

  1、Patriotic, honest and law-abiding, with the correct values and ethics; with highly social responsibility and team-work spirits; with good scientific and cultural awareness.
 2、Master the basic contents of journalism and communication, economics and other disciplines required by this specialty; grasp the basic knowledge of information technology, network, publishing market and copyright law or related field; possess essential knowledge of humanities and social sciences.
3、Have a systematical and solid mastery of the basic knowledge, basic theory and basic skills of editing and publishing ;have common understanding of knowledge hierarchy and development trend of editing and publishing.
4、Have comprehensive abilities in editing and publishing research, topic selection planning, publication production, etc. by using basic theories and technical methods of related disciplines; master the ability to analyze and solve practical problems in the publishing market and edit and process publications content.
5、Have the independent learning ability; master the basic methods of literature searches and data queries, and be able to acquire relevant knowledge and information independently, have a strong sense of innovation; have a great ability to acquire, process and apply information.
6、Only by completing the credit requirements of the course stipulated in the training plan and passing the examination of “Situation and Policy”, can students graduate.

  7、It is recommended that students select courses which credits are not higher than 27 at the most and not lower than 20 in the 1st and 2nd grade each semester, while students select course which credits are not higher than 24 at the most and not lower than 14 in the 3rd and 4th grade.
 8、Length of Schooling: 4 years, students who meet the requirements for the degree will be  awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.
 9、The compulsory module of general education requires students to choose one course with 2-credit course in Mathematics and Statistics, the optional module of general education requires students to choose 2-credit course in general education, the optional module of general education requires students to choose 8 credits, and the optional module of platform courses in social sciences requires students to choose 2-credit course
10、Students are required to graduate in advance or extend the study time which is not more than 6 years(include stopping off school).

Ⅳ. Curriculum Structure Proportion

Total credits: 148
1. General education curriculum:49 credits, accounting for 33%

2. Platform curriculum of social science:13 credits,accounting for 9%
3. Foundation curriculum: 22 credits,accounting for 15%
4.Specialized curriculum:64 credits,accounting for 43%
