I. Guidance

Against the background of reform and opening up and the rapid development of film and television communication, reform in education is being made to integrate curriculum resources, enhance curricula quality, so as to build a distinctive radio and television director major. According to the characteristics of applied liberal arts, the combination of humanistic literacy and scientific spirit is strengthened and the proportion of practical Courses is increased, which aims at scientifically building students' knowledge system, enhancing their practical and innovative ability and improving students' resilience in the markets.

II. Objectives

The aim is to enable the students to master systematic theories while developing practical abilities, and to be capable to handle all the basic works while specializing in one aspect after certain practice.

III. Requirements for Graduation

1.      Have the correct values and ethics; be equipped with patriotism and integrity; observe the law; have a high sense of social responsibility and a good spirit of collaboration; and have a good scientific and cultural literacy.

2.      Have the professional quality; know the latest achievements and development trends of the specialty; and have good research ability.

3.      Have the practical ability to engage in radio and television directing; be equipped with a certain knowledge of humanities and social sciences.

4.      Have the ability to learn independently; master the basic methods of literature retrieval and data query; have a strong sense of innovation; be able to acquire, process and use information.

5.      Students are allowed to graduate after obtaining enough credits and passing the Situation and Policy course.

6.      It is recommended to take no more than 27 but no less than 20 credits per semester in the first and second grades while in the third and fourth grades the number is 24 and 14

7.      With a four-year learning period, the Bachelor of Arts can be obtained upon meeting all the requirements.

8.      The compulsory course design of General Education requires one course of two credits in mathematics and statistics, and one course of two credits in the excellent courses. The Elective one requires 8 credits, of which 2 credits should be common course.

9.      The compulsory course design of the professional education program requires a “School Year Design” or “School Year Paper” in the 6th semester, while a “Graduation Design” or “Graduation Thesis” is required in the 8th semester.

10.  Students are allowed to graduate earlier or later, but the maximum length of study mustn’t exceed 6 years (including suspension).

IV. Curriculum Structure and Proportion

1. Total credits: 148 credits

2. General Education Courses: 49 credits (33%)

3. Common Courses in Social Science: 13 credits (9%)

4. Foundation Courses: 18 credits (12%)

5. Specialized Courses: 68 credits (46%)
