Research interests:media policy, mass media and the history of Chinese society and news communication.

 

He presided over and completed the project supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China "Research on the changes in the distribution system of Chinese newspapers and periodicals since modern times", the Shanghai Social Science Planning Project "Research on the distribution of Chinese ancient newspapers and periodicals", and project supported by the Scientific Research Starting Foundation for the Returned Overseas students””(2011) “Research on the development of China's new media policy”. 

 

He has published The research on the changes of the distribution system of Chinese newspapers and periodicals (2013 edition of Zhonghua Book Company), which comprehensively and systematically combed and studied the distribution management systems, distribution formats and the changing process of ancient newspapers and modern newspapers. "New books review" column of people's Daily published "new development of news history research", which deemed that the book "sketched the historical track of changes in Chinese newspapers distribution system" and "summarized the beneficial enlightenment of Chinese newspapers distribution system change history". China Book Business Report published a book review of The pioneering work of Chinese newspapers distribution system change history. China Publishing&Media Journal published a book review of Describing and revealing the pedigree and mechanism of changes in Chinese newspapers distribution system. It reviewed that the book described the historical track of changes in Chinese newspapers distribution system, summarized the basic laws of changes in newspapers distribution system, and put forward countermeasure and advice for the further reform of the newspapers distribution system, which has important value of pioneering exploration and reference significance.

 

He has published papers in journals such as Journalism&Communication, Journalism Bimonthly, Modern Communication, Social Science, Editorial Friend, etc. There are dozens of articles such as Changes in China's Internet news policy in the past 20 years, A survey report on Internet journalists' intention to Internet news policy changes, Taiwan's newspaper distribution system and format in the second half of the 20th century, Historical track and basic laws of changes in Chinese newspapers distribution system , Realistic enlightenment of the history of Chinese newspapers distribution system change, News education concepts and teaching modes of University of Missouri, etc. Some papers were abstracted or reprinted by Xinhua Digest, China Journalism Yearbook, China University Academic Abstracts, and Journalism & Communication (materials copied by the Renmin University ).

 

The research on the changes of the distribution system of Chinese newspapers and periodicals won the third prize of the 7th outstanding achievement award of scientific research in institution of higher education (Humanities and Social Sciences).

 

At present, he has presided over the National Social Science Fund Project "Research on the changes of the news policy of the Communist Party of China in the 100 years since the founding of the party" (2017), and Shanghai Social Science Planning Project "History of the news policy of Chinese Communist Party" (2017).
